Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a state of the art, noninvasive, diagnostic tool used to rule out or identify any pathology, whether it is gynecological or obstetrical. When scheduling, it is our goal to be able to coordinate your physician visit with your ultrasound appointment, for your convenience and for the most thorough evaluation.
With the use of ultrasound, imaging enabled by the use of high frequency sound waves with no x-rays or radiation involved, our RDMS Certified technicians can aid the Doctor in the evaluation of your pregnancy. It can confirm the viability of an early pregnancy and the baby’s heartbeat, identify multiple pregnancies, and determine pregnancy due dates. As your pregnancy progresses, it can help with the diagnosis of problems, determine the position of the baby, and evaluate the placenta.
Plan on leaving each OB ultrasound visit with in-utero pictures of your baby!
Ultrasound, for gynecological purposes, also proves to be a great diagnostic tool for evaluating pain, infertility, and abnormal uterine bleeding. Usually employing the transvaginal scan, a record can be made of structural abnormalities present. Doctors, for instance, will be able to visualize fibroids, ovarian cysts, and the endometrial lining thickness.
